PhysicsConstantGas Field

The gas constant (symbol: R), also known as the molar, universal, or ideal gas constant, is a physical constant which is featured in many fundamental equations in the physical sciences, such as the ideal gas law and the Nernst equation.

It is equivalent to the Boltzmann constant, but expressed in units of energy per temperature increment per mole (rather than energy per temperature increment per particle).

The molar gas constant has the value of 8.3144598(48) J⋅mol^−1⋅K^−1
