Truncates the source string to a specified length and replaces the truncated part with an ellipsis.

Parameters

text  String
The string that will be truncated.
maxLength  Int32
The maximum length of characters to maintain before truncation occurs.
elipsis  String  (Optional)
Optional. The ellipsis string to use as the replacement.

Default value is: "…" (U+2026)

Return Value

String
The truncated string with the ellipsis in the end.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type String. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
